12. Old Before Your Time

  

Ray Lamontagne makes his first appearance on the blog. He is known for his mellow and melancholy songs.  His raspy voice serves this song well.  My wife jokes that some of the lines in this song are about me and she is kind of right. I tend to view the glass as mostly empty. Maybe not that extreme, but I tend to be a realist and I tend to hold grudges so many of the lines in this one do hit close to home. I wasn't always like that. I don't remember when it happened, but since life tends not to go according to even the best laid plans it is good to be prepared for the worst. Admittedly not the best approach to life, but I am what I am and I hope I don't become old before my time.
